Current Position and Research Areas: Joe is a senior staff scientist at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD. Current research includes Cassini INMS, CAPS, and MIMI analysis of Titan's upper atmosphere and its interaction with Saturn's magnetosphere, MMS-EPD investigations of energetic particles in magnetospheric reconnection, and he is the deputy instrument lead for the JENI energetic neutral atom imager for the European JUICE mission set to explore the Jovian icy moons.
