The Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) offers Research Assistantships to qualified graduate students in the joint Ph.D. and M.S. programs between the Physics and Astronomy Department at University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and the Space Science Division at SwRI. Qualified students receive stipend, tuition, and the option of benefits to conduct cutting-edge research at SwRI in all areas of space physics. Research supported in the program focuses primarily on data analysis using current and past spacecraft missions, but also includes instrumentation and modeling. Although the Research Assistantship offered by the joint UTSA-SwRI program adequately covers costs and research needs, students are encouraged to apply to outside fellowships.
